Ground Beetle
Ground Beetle – Commonly mistaken as a cockroach, ground beetles are usually uniformly black and shiny, but some species are patterned or brightly colored. They have an elongated, somewhat flattened body, that is about 1/4th to 1 inch in size, and have legs that are usually long and slender. They can be found inside in basements and garages. Outside, they are typically found under stones during the daytime, and are attracted to lights at night. If crushed, they give off a very unpleasant odor.
